The Chicago Bears could sign free agent wide receiver Jarvis Landry

At one point, the Cleveland Browns were going to trade Jarvis Landry. However, because they could cut him with only a small amount of dead cap space, that’s what they did. Most of the league wasn’t going to give up anything significant for a guy who the Browns would likely cut anyways.

Now a free agent, Landry probably has several suitors and is weighing his options. He’s a better slot receiver than Pringle, so if the Bears could add talent, then they should do it. Pringle is only on a one-year deal as well, therefore adding another similar player who could be here long-term isn’t a bad plan.

Landry is 29 years old and a 5-time Pro Bowl selection, having caught over 100 passes twice in his career. He is extremely effective in space, giving his quarterback many opportunities when extending plays — that’s key for a quarterback like Fields.

The Bears lost Allen Robinson and still need a big-time playmaker. That might come in the form of a guy like Landry if they decided to offer him the money. Landry will still come relatively pricy, one would have to assume. But, a receiver as savvy as Landry would be worth the price.
