Chicago Bears should explore these 3 David Montgomery trades
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears could trade David Montgomery to the Atlanta Falcons
Lastly, we come to a scenario that would certainly be a little funny for Bears fans. Former general manager Ryan Pace joined the Falcons’ front office this offseason and has since then helped the Falcons sign multiple former Bears. It’s almost to the point where Bears fans have to simply laugh. Now, could Pace bring in a guy he once traded up for in Montgomery?
Atlanta re-signed Cordarrelle Patterson and Qadree Ollison this offseason, but neither one is viewed as a true every-down back. Now, Patterson did prove he was a valuable weapon and could be used in a variety of ways, including consistently out of the backfield.
Here, Patterson and Montgomery would be reunited in Atlanta and could form a dynamic duo for the Falcons. Depending on whether or not the Falcons draft a quarterback this year to develop behind Marcus Mariota, Montgomery could end up being a long-term piece for this offense.
In this deal, Pace convinces the Falcons that a third and fourth-round pick is enough to land Montgomery and a sixth-round pick from the Bears.
