Early day two draft selections for the Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears select DE Arnold Ebiketie in this mock draft. I know many are thinking, why him? The EDGE defenders were running thin by the time the Chicago Bears had their first draft pick. Ebiketie, much like Teven Jenkins, is a player who could have quickly gone in the first round. If the Chicago Bears aren’t thinking about winning now, then why not draft an excellent defensive end with their first draft selection of the 2022 NFL draft.

The Chicago Bears select CB Roger McCreary in this mock draft. I have to tell you that offensive lineman Tyler Smith was still available. Ryan Poles did mention how he wants to win in the trenches, but since I picked him in my last mock draft and the number of serviceable offensive linemen is still high, we will wait until the later rounds to see if any are available.

This next pick for the Chicago Bears was a tough one. It would also have many scratching their heads due to Nicholas Marrow being signed. Try not to get overly caught up in one-year deals. I really wanted to take Leo Chenal, but my draft team member talked me out of it. Here is to you, Carlson.

The Chicago Bears in this mock draft select Darrian Beavers. There were a lot of tight ends available, and the Chicago Bears could grab one of them to help Justin Fields even more, but who says that is Ryan Poles’ vision to helping Fields?

To recap the mock draft so far:

  1. Arnold Ebikete, defensive end, Penn State pick 39
  2. Roger McCreary, cornerback, Auburn pick 48
  3. Darrian Beavers, linebacker, Cinncinati pick
