Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears trade back for a third straight time

I know, but this is supposed to be as accurate as it can be and there’s no way that Ryan Poles would trade back three straight times, right? Well, I wouldn’t be shocked at all if this happened. Poles has made it known he wanted to build through the draft. He has made it known he wants to acquire more draft picks. He has done this already with the Khalil Mack trade and although I am not privy to his and the Bears’ “big board,” there were too many solid options on my board to stay put.

Remember, this is also how “this” mock simulator (using Pro Football Focus by the way) has been going and if certain players are available then it’s possible that Poles chooses not to trade down. In this scenario, it just made too much sense again.

Finally, Ryan Poles makes his first draft selection as the Chicago Bears general manager.

player. 812. Scouting Report. OT. Ohio State. 57. Pick Analysis. Nicholas Petit-Frere

In this scenario, the Chicago Bears look to a familiar face for Justin Fields. While at Ohio State, Petit-Frere was the protector of Fields on the right side. However, in 2021, Petit-Frere moved over to the left and did an exceptional job outside of a few games. With the move to the NFL and learning from the best coaches in the league, he has the potential to be a lockdown left tackle — something some of the other prospects at this point in the draft don’t have. Most were projected right tackles, which Teven Jenkins fits perfectly. Read a more in-depth look at Petit Frere.
