The Chicago Bears bring in a tight end to develop

This may be a bit of a reach, but I think the Chicago Bears could value selecting Chigoziem Okonkwo in the fourth round versus waiting to see if he falls to them in the fifth. There has been plenty of connection between these two as he was one of the first prospects invited to Halas Hall for a formal meeting.

With a first name like Chigoziem, it seems like fate for him to end up in Chicago. He is slightly on the smaller side at only 6’2″, but he could develop into another receiving weapon for Justin Fields and the Bears. Maryland used him all over in their passing game. He saw seam routes and even tight end screens He bring yards-after-catch (YAC) ability that the Bears haven’t seen in a tight end recently. Last season, Okonkwo caught 52 balls and five touchdowns.

Do not look for him to be a blocker as he has yet to prove himself in that regard. This is where Cole Kmet will step in. Any team drafting Okonkwo is looking to use him similarly to how Evan Engram was used with the Giants. This could be another way for the Chicago Bears to add more talent in the receiving game later in the draft as the top wide receivers are all off the board.
