Finally, the Bears decide to go defense. At pick 135 in the fourth round, Poles drafts Micah McFadden, a linebacker out of Indiana. At 6-foot-2 and 232 pounds, McFadden is a tad undersized and that’s why he will not hear his name higher than the middle of the draft.

However, McFadden’s physicality and mentality are superior traits. He is a downhill player with a motor that rarely stops. McFadden always looks to finish plays, going until the whistle blows. He is especially great in stopping the run, where he quickly diagnoses plays and gets himself into the back field.

McFadden is a sure tackler who wraps up, very rarely missing. He is the type of hard-nosed player the Bears need on this defense, which was full of missed tackles over the past couple of seasons. His attitude and play style are contagious.

Over the past three seasons, McFadden has been as consistent as it gets at the position. He has totaled 196 tackles, including 35 for a loss and 14.0 sacks. This is a guy the Bears could potentially use either in the middle or on the strong side, depending on how they view Nicholas Morrow.
