Chicago Bears acquire several late picks in this 2022 mock draft
By Ryan Heckman
One of the most often-mocked players to the Bears is yet again mocked to Chicago here in the fifth round. LSU cornerback Cordale Flott might end up being one of the best overall values at this stage in the draft, as he continued to improve the more he played for the Tigers.
Flott stands 6-foot-2 with a lanky body, weighing in at 170 pounds. He did appear to be a little bigger at his Pro Day, though, which was nice to see. One of the main knocks on him was the fact that he had been so thin and needed to pack on some muscle.
With plenty of length, Flott’s size is ideal to play on the outside.
He is a great closer in space, showing excellent play speed. This is a cornerback the Bears could depend on coming up and helping out in run support, which is something they have lacked aside from Jaylon Johnson. The physicality is there with Flott, but his weight and strength have to improve. Flott has a history of getting bullied by bigger receivers and, because of that, will not be drafted high.
Flott only had one interception throughout his college career, which is not ideal. But, there’s room to grow as just a fifth-round pick.
