1. Is Danny Gray a great fit with Chicago Bears?

NFL Comparison: Quez Watkins

Average Mock Draft Position:154

You can add Danny Gray to the list of day three draft targets that the Chicago Bears have looked into. They brought Gray into Halas Hall and had a virtual meeting with him. The reason he is number one may have to do with the increase in Gray, but also that Gray is arguably the best fit for the Chicago Bears.

Speed is his game, but he is more complete than that. Arguably his profile makes him similar to the Darnell Mooney of this draft. Still, Gray may fit better in the slot, and Quez Watkins has had a similar, or a bit lesser trajectory than Mooney so far, and that can be a reasonable expectation for Danny Gray.

Gray spent two years at Community College, and his first year at SMU was the 2020 COVID season. With 2021 being his real breakout it is easy to understand that he is flying under the radar.

Still, for a day three pick, he is the type of player you want to bet on from an athletic and production standpoint. His skill set of speed and deep tracking fits the offense well, and the cost of a fifth-round pick is right in the Chicago Bears range. This would be a great fit.
