One trade option to land Kadarius Toney on the Chicago Bears

When analyzing Toney’s potential return value, one has to establish the facts. First of all, the Giants are making him available after just one season in the NFL. That is essentially admitting failure and giving up on a player, even if that player still holds a ton of potential.

For a guy who appeared in just 10 games and played for one of the league’s most inconsistent offenses, there is a lot of unknown here. Because of that fact, and the fact that New York has made it widely known they’re looking to move Toney, the Bears should start somewhere around this type of deal.

In this deal, the Bears could end up with quite the value. They would trade their third-rounder this year, coming at pick 71, along with a fourth-rounder next year in exchange for Toney. Let the storylines around Chicago hating fourth-round picks commence.

This is just a starting point, but if New York was at all interested, maybe the Bears also throw in a sixth-rounder for good measure. If they can get by without trading a pick in the second round, this becomes an immediate steal. It’s unlikely, but again, this is the starting line.
