The Chicago Bears should try to trade for DK Metcalf before the draft

Another big name in the rumor mill is DK Metcalf, the big, fast wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks. While Seattle’s offseason has signaled a true rebuild after trading Russell Wilson, head coach Pete Carroll still isn’t willing to admit that the team might move on from either Metcalf or Tyler Lockett.

After dealing Wilson to the Denver Broncos, though, there is a strong possibility that Metcalf does not want to re-sign in Seattle. He is entering the final year of his contract, like Brown, and being part of a rebuild for the foreseeable future isn’t the most appealing idea.

This deal is fairly black and white. The Bears get Metcalf and only Metcalf. The Seahawks, meanwhile, get a first-round pick next year but also a valuable second-rounder this year.

Real quick, there is an obvious reason why neither of these trades has added up to the likes of Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill: Adams and Hill have been doing it for far longer. It’s that simple. Metcalf and Brown are great receivers but don’t warrant multiple firsts just yet.

In Metcalf, the Bears get a guy who is physically dominant at 6-foot-4 and has a rock-solid frame. In three seasons, Metcalf has caught 216 passes for 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns.
