Perfect Round 2 draft hauls for the Chicago Bears, No. 3

This third pairing is an interesting one, as two possible first-round picks fall out of the opening round.

Round 2, Pick 39: Kyler Gordon, CB – Washington

Washington’s starting corners are two of the best in this draft, and Trent McDuffie will probably go first, with Kyler Gordon coming not too far behind. The Bears select Gordon at 39, who is a first-round talent. But, because of a late first-round run on quarterbacks and some other surprises potentially happening, the Bears get the luxury of finding a sure-fire starting cornerback early in the second round.

Round 2, Pick 48: Jahan Dotson, WR – Penn State

Wide receiver is such an interesting position this year because there are a few who could jump into the first round, such as the aforementioned Pickens and maybe even North Dakota State’s Christian Watson. Penn State’s Jahan Dotson, then, would be someone who falls in favor of those guys.

Dotson is a little smaller at 5-foot-11, but he does a lot of his damage after the catch. He’s really exciting once he has the ball in his hands and would immediately make a name for himself over Byron Pringle, who was recently arrested. Dotson is an absolute steal for the Bears at 48, and although he probably doesn’t make it this far, crazier things have happened.
