With the first round over the Chicago Bears get into the meat of their draft with three picks on Friday night. They will not have to wait long now and have the seventh pick of the second round along with picks 48 and 71 overall.

Now that we know who is off of the board it is easier to project who may be there for these picks. Dane Brugler, arguably the best NFL draft analyst out there did a mock draft for the second and third rounds for The Athletic.

We will break down how those picks would sit with Bears fans.

Pick 39 Chicago Bears Select George Pickens

Stop me if you have seen this connection before. The fit has been discussed by many leading into the draft and after one night the rumors that the Chicago Bears may be interested in George Pickens will not stop.

Pickens is expected to go right in this range, and the Bears take the top WR in round two according to Dane Brugler. Considering how often we have written about Pickens we probably do not need to go much further into detail.

There are some concerns about his character, and while those have to be checked into, there are plenty of wavelengths on the character spectrum. We do not know if these are that he is difficult to get along with or if he just keeps to himself. It could also be something much worse, and we know the NFL can bury things from time to time.

Still, without knowing exactly what the character is concerned it is hard to comment from the outside. On paper, the player and fit make plenty of sense.
