Pick 71 Chicago Bears Select Darian Kinnard

If there is one position that you could say the Chicago Bears need to add on day two after going wideout and defensive line, it would be back to the trenches with an offensive lineman. Darian Kinnard makes a lot of sense as well.

Kinnard is a power run blocker, and knowing what Ryan Poles has talked about in the position says that he wants a road grader like Kinnard. Still, while Kinnard is good running downhill, he is not as great in his backpedal.

This has led to many analysts claiming that he is best off as a guard in the NFL. Still, whether he fits as a right tackle or right guard, there is a fit with him on the Chicago Bears.

It arguably would be a best-case for him to play guard. If they keep Teven Jenkins at right tackle, they would have two massive people movers on that side, and the team would be heavily incentivized to run that way.

Kinnard would see his weakness is pass protection simplified at guard, and it would turn him into a big hit, and a potential starter right away.

If the team was able to nab a starting wideout with downfield ability, a gap shooting 3-technique, and a powerful run-blocking right guard, fans would say this is a great start to the Ryan Poles era.
