After Round 1 of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears should be feeling pretty good about themselves. Many of the projected names to go in that first round certainly did, with the exception of a few not coming off the board just yet.
Like every year, there were surprises, and not just within the picks. We saw big names like A.J. Brown and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown get traded, with a handful of other trades taking place throughout the night.
One of the other somewhat surprising storylines was that of the quarterback position, where just Kenny Pickett came off the board in Round 1 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. That could also work to the Bears’ advantage in Round 2, for those teams looking to move up and snag a quarterback.
Speaking of Round 2, the Bears have a plethora of good options in front of them.
Round 2 of the 2022 NFL Draft could be setting up nicely for Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears.
With a large amount of talent available, and several guys with first-round grades still on the board, Poles has the chance to fill some major needs in Chicago. Of course, those needs include offensive line, wide receiver and cornerback to name a few of the glaring ones.
But, the Bears could also use a linebacker, safety and defensive lineman. Just what order Poles is thinking of attacking those, however, remains to be seen.
At pick no. 39, the Bears hold the seventh pick in the second round. Could they be looking to move up, even if it’s just a couple of picks? It sounds somewhat crazy, but there are a few players worth moving up for.
Again, the Bears might only have to move up a couple of picks to snag one of these game-changers. These three, though, could end up giving Chicago first-round talent on Day 2.
