Secondary options for Chicago Bears
Cornerback
13. Andrew Booth
14. Kyler Gordon
The two top cornerbacks to fall are Booth and Gordon. For Booth, the question has to be his medicals. He did not do anything in the pre-draft process so teams are not sure how healthy or how athletic he is.
In the case of Gordon, he is a bit small for the outside, and maybe a slot in the NFL, but he plays the game with insane intensity. He has traits that make him a matchup weapon that can move around depending on the team and formation and that type of dynamic upside in the second round is too good to pass up.
Safety
15. Jalen Pitre
16. Jaquan Brisker
Most fans would not expect a safety in the top two rounds, but these two names are good as any of the other players they could possibly be selected. Pitre would fit into the role similar to Gordon except he would move between the slot and free safety.
Brisker is the better fit next to Eddie Jackson, though. He is more physical and he would allow Jackson to be more of the centerfielder in the back end. If they take some of the tackle responsibility away from Jackson and put more ball-hawking on his plate, it is a huge win which makes the pick an easier decision, despite needing offense and some other spots on defense potentially having more value.
