Now that the first round is over we have a much better sense of who will be on the board for the Chicago Bears at pick 39 in the 2022 NFL draft. Knowing what we know now, how could the rest of the board shake out for the team’s first pick?

33. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Logan Hall, DL, Houston

Some Chicago Bears fans may see him as a good fit if he falls to pick 39. We know that the Bears have done their homework on him and that he would fit into the role that they had envisioned for Larry Ogunjobi. Unfortunately, the Bucs are able to trade down and pick up a player that they had been rumored to be interested in with their first-round pick. The need fills a hole that is currently taken by Ndamoung Suh and he would be a good scheme fit.

34. Minnesota Vikings – Drake Jackson, EDGE, USC

The Vikings went safety with their first pick and now move onto defense. Jackson is one of the youngest players in the draft and was able to play up and down the USC defensive line, although he is best off on the edge. The Vikings have to like that he is a scheme fit in their 4-3 front, and his age has to intrigue them as well. For the Chicago Bears, this is probably someone not on their radar and would be good to see knocking players down.

35. Tennessee Titans -Malik Willis QB, Liberty

Teams were wary of Willis in the first round but you have to think that at some point the bites start to come. For the Chicago Bears, it would be better to see this come sooner than later. For the Titans, this fit makes sense.

Willis could sit for a year behind Ryan Tannehill, but his contract timing is more in-line with the contract of Treylon Burks, who they just drafted. They give Tannehill a year and then move on.
