36. New York Giants – Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington

The three positions that had been tied to the New York Giants all along have been cornerback, pass rusher, and offensive line. They nailed the first two with players that many thought could go first overall.

Now, while they miss on Sauce Gardner and Derek Stingley they get a big hit at cornerback in round two with Kyler Gordon. Gordon was getting round one traction and would be another case of the Giants swooping on the best player available.

37. Houston Texans – Arnold Ebeikete, EDGE, PSU

The Texans continue to hit big positions of need. They start with cornerback, then hit their offensive line later in round one. Now, they complete their trio that is similar to the Giants in a pass rusher. Arnold Ebeikete is a player with a lot of upside but could come in right away and make an impact on games.

This is another win for the Chicago Bears as the team is less likely to take an edge rusher. Still, we saw edge rushers go high in the draft and they will go high in round two as well.

38. New York Jets – Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia

The Jets have already had three picks and went cornerback, wide receiver, and edge rusher. Now, they get the middle of their defense with Nakobe Dean, and the last of the elite Georgia players go in the first round.

Robert Saleh gets to hit all three layers of his defense in the second year of his coaching tenure.
