8. Matthew Butler, DL, Tennessee

Butler is probably a breaking point for the three-technique position. Eric Johnson is another shot as a small school player, but between Butler and Winfrey you are looking at the last two players who could really step into an NFL camp and compete to get on the field.

Butler lacks a bit of the explosiveness that Winfrey brings, but he has a lot of the traits that raise his floor. He is more proficient with his hands and better in the run game. He is not the three-technique that you always see in the backfield but also does not get gashed in the run game as often.

With SEC experience and facing some of the better linemen out there, it could be a benefit to get a player like him later than expected. Butler will be an interesting option and would be a huge benefit to see him fall to pick 148.
