10 best prospects still available for Chicago Bears on day 3

3. Khalil Shakir, WR, Boise State

Khalil Shakir is someone that many thought would have been gone by now. We wrote about him as an option at pick 71 earlier in the draft cycle. With that in mind, it may be unlikely that he continues to fall farther towards Chicago again at 148. Still, as noted a lot can happen on day three of the NFL draft and the Chicago Bears shouldn’t be afraid to draft Khalil Shakir after drafting Velus Jones.

Shakir is more of a slot option compared to Jones who should play on the outside more often. Still, Shakir is a fit with Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears similar to Velus Jones in that regard. Shakir is a slot, but he takes the top off out of the slot. A deep field threat from that area of the field would be a nice addition to the Chicago Bears’ offense. We saw Darnell Mooney slide on day three, so keep an eye on if Shakir becomes that type of player.
