How upset are you right now? The Chicago Bears came into the draft with six picks and as of now have yet to add any draft capital. It would be nice to have a fourth-round pick in this draft as there are a few solid players still available, but they might now fall to the fifth round when the Bears are on the clock at No. 148.

Before we get into that, let’s discuss what took place on Day 2 of the 2022 NFL Draft. With his first pick in the draft, Ryan Poles did not hesitate when he called in the Kyler Gordon pick. Gordon is a cornerback and one who was projected to go at the bottom of the first round or beginning of the second. Today, I wrote how the team had to highly consider cornerback at No. 39 based on the talent that fell. Gordon was my CB2 on the board heading into Day 2, but I also felt like he was the better scheme fit over Andrew Booth. He will help secure the secondary immediately.

How are you feeling about the Chicago Bears 2022 NFL Draft thus far?

It appeared to me that at pick No. 48, Ryan Poles was doing his best to trade back in the draft. As much as you’d like to do something like this, you need a trade partner. A trade partner is not something it appears Poles was able to find, and he decided to shock most Chicago Bears fans by doubling down in the secondary. This time, Poles selected safety, Jaquan Brisker.

Safety was not an area that I was overly concerned with this offseason. I think Eddie Jackson is better than many give him credit. I also think they would have been serviceable with DeAndre Houston-Carson and Dane Cruikshank — not to mention their ability to add more depth later in the draft or in free agency after the draft. Personally, I would have went with a receiver or an offensive tackle, but as much as I disagree, Jaquan Brisker is another talented player and Ryan Poles stuck to his best player available approach.

Well, now let’s look at who we think are the best players available for the Bears to target on Day 3 or the 2022 NFL Draft.
