Here are the best options on defense for the Chicago Bears on Day 3

The Chicago Bears have spent two picks on the defense and one pick on the offense. After hearing Ryan Poles speak tonight, it is obvious that the 2022 NFL Draft is not too big of a moment for him at this point in his general manager career. He has stuck to his best player available mentality and the Bears are clearly working off their tiered big board. I should not complain as much seeing that is how I like to lay out my big boards too.

The meatball fan in me wants to yell and scream seeing a safety taken when some top wide receivers on my board were available. What can I say, I don’t think completely the same way as Ryan Poles. Let’s take a look at the defensive side of the ball anyway. Ryan Poles might go back to that side of the ball since his head coach, Matt Eberflus, is a defensive-minded coach.

Defensive Line:

Perrion Winfrey, DT – Oklahoma
Curtis Brooks, DT – Cincinnati
Neil Farrell, Jr., DT- LSU
Thomas Booker, DT – Stanford
Tyreke Smith, EDGE – Ohio State
Kingsley Enagbare, EDGE – South Carolina
Dominique Robinson, EDGE – Miami (OH)

Linebackers:

JoJo Domann, LB – Nebraska
Brandon Smith, LB – Penn State
Darrian Beavers, LB – Cincinnati
Jack Sanborn, LB – Wisconsin
Damone Clark, LB – LSU
D’Marco Jackson, LB – Appalachian State
Damone Clark, LB – LSU

Defensive Backs:

Tariq Woolen, UTSA
Josh Jobe, CB – Alabama
Jalyn Armour-Davis, CB – Alabama
Joshua Williams, CB – Fayetteville State
Smoke Monday, S – Auburn
Vincent Gray, CB – Michigan
Mario Goodrich, CB – Clemson
Tycen Anderson, S – Toledo
Yusuf Corker, S – Kentucky
Damarri Mathis, CB – Pittsburgh
Zyon McCollum, CB – Sam Houston State
Dane Belton, S – Iowa
Cobe Bryant, CB – Cincinnati
Kalon Barnes, CB – Baylor

Alright, that’s a wrap for the second night of the 2022 NFL Draft. There is plenty to be happy about with the Chicago Bears draft results, but I understand the frustration. I too am not 100 percent sold on the outcome of those first three picks. That said, I do love the first two as solid, strong players who instantly improve the defense. I just wanted to see a shift to the offense.

Here is looking ahead to Day 3
