5 things to know about Chicago Bears rookie Kyler Gordon
2. Kyler Gordon Ball Production
Kyler Gordon has not allowed a touchdown, which is impressive. He does not have the most ball production, though. Over his career, he has just two interceptions. To have two more picks than touchdowns is still a win, but it shows that he is not a ball hawk.
According to The Athletic, he had 14 pass breakups during his career, and nine came last season. According to PFF, he has a 15% forced incompletion rate and also has six coverage stops.
Still, that ranks 84th in the country and his coverage stops are at 174th in the country. Gordon Is a player that does not get targeted often. He is not giving up a ton of completions, and even when he does, the yards after the catch are low. He can tackle and that is not an issue.
However, he does not get his hands on football as often as you would want. That may not be his game and it may be tough to expect him to get better in this area in the NFL.
