The Chicago Bears should add Odell Beckham Jr., Wide Receiver

Why not go after a proven star wide receiver with some of the best hands in the NFL? Odell Beckham Jr. may be coming off an injury and could miss most of the season, but the Bears could look to add the three-time Pro Bowler to their roster for possibly the next few seasons.

Beckham burst onto the scene mainly because of the incredible one-handed catch he had on the sidelines for the New York Giants. The theatrics and control of the catch make it unbelievable and seemingly impossible. Outside of that catch, Beckham has been a force at wide receiver and elite at the position.

The issue is staying healthy for Beckham. In his first three seasons in the NFL, Beckham posted three straight seasons of 1,300 yards or more despite only playing in 12 games as a rookie. He was incredible for Eli Manning and the Giants. He struggled on the Browns, but once he was freed, he posted solid stats with Matthew Stafford while having an incredible playoff run with the Los Angeles Rams — 21 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns in four games.

Now, this wouldn’t help in 2022, but if the Bears locked down Beckham on a two-year deal, we could see a wide receiver core in 2023 of Odell Beckham Jr., Darnell Mooney, Velus Jones Jr., and a 1st round pick rookie wide receiver. That core could compete for a top unit in the NFL in 2023.
