Chicago Bears QB, Justin Fields takes an early win over Aaron Rodgers
By Dakota Wayne
In a merchandise sales report from March 1, 2021, to February 28, 2022, there was somewhat of a surprise favoring the Chicago Bears and Justin Fields specifically.
Now, Aaron Rodgers is an enemy of the Chicago Bears. That’s an obvious thought.
Especially following his “I own you,” comments, there’s quite the animosity from Chicago Bears fans towards Aaron Rodgers.
While there’s not much the Bears can say they own of Aaron Rodgers on the football field, there’s at least one win the Chicago Bears can hold onto.
Chicago Bears quarterback, Justin Fields merchandise sales surpass Aaron Rodgers numbers
In the previously mentioned merchandise sales report, Justin Fields towered over Aaron Rodgers in merchandise sales.
To put it in perspective, too, it’s not like Fields had a great season to grant these sales. Rodgers is a back-to-back MVP quarterback, yet, the struggling Chicago Bears rookie owned him in merch sales.
According to the NFLPA, whom first reported this, went into detail on what merchandise was.
- adult and youth game jerseys
- t-shirts
- hoodies
- socks
- face coverings
- headbands
- bobbleheads
- plush toys
- figurines
- wall decals
- backpacks
- pennants
- photos
- drinkware
- pet products
While it’s not just jerseys, Justin Fields finds himself far more likable than the controversial Aaron Rodgers. Now, it could be due to Aaron Rodgers being in the NFL for decades and decades and decades, but it’s nice to see the Chicago Bears getting any victory they can against their northern rivals.
If these merch sales can translate into taking over the NFC North for many years to come, then this is a really important sales report.
However, that’s likely not the case, since merch sales don’t make the Bears physically better.
And in all honesty, the likelihood of the Chicago Bears being a better team in the 2022-23 season than the Packers is pretty low. But, a win the Bears can always hang their hat on is this win between Justin Fields and Aaron Rodgers.
