2. Christian Albright, LB, Ball State

The Chicago Bears initially tried to sign Albright to a UDFA right after the draft, but could only work out a deal for a tryout. The tryout obviously did wonders because it got both sides to agree to a deal that will have Christian Albright attending training camp.

Bears fans should know that linebacker is the weakest position on the depth chart and that any linebacker on the roster should feel they have a shot at making it. Still, as linebacker always is, this is a position that will come down to special teams.

Below you can see how Christian Albright compares to Jack Sanborn, who is viewed as one of the top UDFA options on the roster.

If Albright is going to make the roster, he has to beat out Sanborn. One thing that Albright has going for him is that he is more athletic than Sanborn. He weighs a little less, but the two have similar athletic measurements, other than Albright being a tick faster.

Considering the two will be competing for special teams that step or two that Albright has on Sanborn could go a long way. Either way, what he did this weekend was enough to gain the Bears’ attention, and possibly lead him to the practice squad this summer.
