1.Carson Taylor, EDGE, Northern Arizona

The last player the Chicago Bears added was a pass rusher. Compared to linebacker and safety the Bears do not have as big of a need at pass rusher, but Carson Taylor caught their eye for a reason and deserved a spot at training camp.

Below you can see how Taylor compares to Dominique Robinson, a draft pick this offseason.

Robinson is more athletic, but Robinson is viewed as a project who has adequate traits, but not the play. Still, it will be tough for Taylor to show that he is the better option than Robinson when Robinson is bigger, stronger, and faster.

The way that Taylor will make this roster is not showing his upside as a pass rusher, as much as it is being a relentless hustler on special teams. You could argue that Albright and Thomas are his competition more than Robinson at this point.

Taylor is more refined as a pass rusher than Robinson, but the upside is not there. The upside for Taylor is a rotational pass rusher who can play special teams. He caught their eye early in the tryout process so we will see if he can keep the momentum going.
