With the schedule for the 2022 NFL season released earlier today, we are now one step closer to the start of the year. Though there appears to be little pressure on the coaching staff or front office to compete for a playoff berth this year, the same can’t be said for the players. The Bears have committed to a full-on rebuild, and it might only be getting started.

The Bears were not able to be heavy spenders this offseason, but they are projected to be among the league leaders in cap space by 2023. This, to go along with having a full set of picks in next year’s draft, will give the Bears plenty of opportunities to improve their roster. Ryan Poles’ vision for the organization is still coming to form, and nobody on the roster is entirely safe.

The majority of the roster was either drafted or signed by Ryan Pace, and we already know that he and Poles have very different ideas on how to run a team. Poles is likely to use this season to decide his next moves. The units and players that perform well will likely stay intact, while the ones that struggle may get the hook. Even for players that aren’t on expiring contracts, playing well this year is vital to gain the trust and support of the new front office.

From rookies to veterans, there are several Bears players under a great deal of pressure to perform in 2022. Here are the top five.
