The Chicago Bears drafted four offensive linemen, and also added a UDFA offensive lineman that is worth looking into. While the team did not overhaul the unit in one big swoop, they did add enough depth and enough fliers that they can start a rebuilding process.

Of the five players added, which rookies are most likely to see the NFL field this season?

5. Ja’Tyre Carter

Ja’Tyre Carter was not the last lineman drafted, but he may be the least likely to get on the NFL field. There is enough upside from Carter to take a swing on him, but there are a couple of questions with his role and transition.’

Coming from Southern he has one of the biggest jumps in competition to make. Beyond that, he was a tackle but is going to transition to guard in the NFL. His body type suits a guard much more than a tackle, and it will benefit him, but it also will come with more of a transition than some of the other players sticking at the same position.

Lastly, he arguably does not have a defined role at all yet. Is he competing at right guard? Is he the Cody Whitehair backup at left guard? Most of his time was on the left side, and at rookie minicamp, he was often at left guard. The backup left guard behind Whitehair may be the least likely to play right now.
