4. Doug Kramer

The local kid getting drafted is a heartwarming story. Beyond that, Kramer is going to come into training camp with a chance to start. Still, he is not going to be handed the job, and there is a reason he fell into the sixth round.

First, Lucas Patrick is going to start at center. Kramer will get a chance to beat him, but you could argue that beyond Whitehair, he is the second most firmly locked into a starting role. His familiarity with the offensive coordinator cannot be dismissed.

The other issue for Kramer is that he lacks position versatility. Even Carter could arguably get on the field at four different spots. It helps Kramer that he is just one person away, but hurts that he only has that one out to getting on the field.

Lastly, Kramer will still have to beat Sam Mustipher out. Most fans will dismiss Mustipher and hand the job over, but Kramer has to earn it. He is a scheme fit, and more athletic than Mustipher, but it speaks to the uphill battle he has to face.
