These wide receiver spots are still up for grabs for the Chicago Bears

When we look at the offensive side of the football, there are two main positions up for grabs. The wide receiver spot and the offensive line. Let’s look at the WRs in more detail.

Wide Receivers

The top spot is going to be locked in by Darnell Mooney. However, every spot after that is literally up in the air. Byron Pringle is likely to be placed in as the WR2 in this offense. Reports from camp are that he has really impressed the coaching staff. Behind Pringle is going to be rookie, Velus Jones, Jr. These three are my locks to make the final 53-man roster and also who I believe sees the most targets this season.

Behind them though is wide open and the Chicago Bears have some interesting players who could earn their way onto the final roster and onto the field. Dante Pettis is the one I am most intrigued by, followed by Tajae Sharpe, Dazz Newsome and David Moore. Equanimeous St. Brown is one the coaching staff has brought up a few times that I don’t see the intrigue on, but I’ll trust their process.

We will see Pettis, Sharpe, Newsome, and Moore fighting to earn a spot on the field. However, we should also keep an eye on Nsimba Webster, Chris Finke, Isaiah Coulter and Kevin Shaa. Outside of Mooney, Pringle and Jones, the WR4, WR5 and WR6 (assuming they only keep six) spots are all going to be a battle that goes down to the wire this offseason.
