7. David Montgomery

David Montgomery is entering 2022 as one of the biggest leaders of this football team. He is now in his fourth NFL season and both Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus have talked about the way he conducts himself on and off of the field being what they want the team to have as a precedent for all players.

While Montgomery is one of the most talented players, there are questions about how much value he can bring from the running back position. Most running backs can only be as good as his line, and there are still questions on the Chicago Bears line, which could hurt his efficiency. Beyond that, he may have the best backup on the roster in Khalil Herbert.

The Chicago Bears will be in an interesting spot with his contract negotiations during training camp. All indications are that the team will want him back, but at the same time, it will be at a certain price.
