5. Velus Jones, Chicago Bears draft pick

Whether you think that the pick was good or not, it does not matter. What matters now is how Velus Jones performs, and how that impacts the team. His rookie season performance is going to have a big impact for better or worse.

With the lack of talent on the roster, he is going to step in and compete to get on the field immediately. Guys like Dante Pettis were drafted higher, but have not seen the NFL success in their years of playing. Jones is coming fresh with speed and a chance to make a name for himself.

Even in comparison to Byron Pringle, it is easy to say that the impact of Jones will be bigger. We know what Pringle is and if he takes a step forward that may be into a solid depth wideout. If Velus Jones can break out as a rookie he can big play hitter and can it can turn into him and Darnell Mooney as the one-two punch immediately.

Some fans may not like the prospect, but the reality is that no other wideout has a better chance to become an impact player for Chicago next year.
