Chicago Bears Takeaway No. 6: Velus Jones continues to receive high praise

The jokes are still ongoing when it comes to the age of Velus Jones, Jr. However, there was more praise given to Jones today after practice. Fellow wide receiver, Darnell Mooney spoke highly of Jones and made reporters aware he believes Jones is dangerous with the ball in his hands.

Mooney had this to say about Velus Jones:

"“One guy…Velus man…when he gets the ball, ya’ll gonna see, ya’ll gonna see man, he can fly. He’s going to be a playmaker for sure for us.”"

This isn’t the first time Jones received recognition. Matt Eberflus and Justin Fields have spoken highly of the rookie receiver as well. I have heard plenty of beat reporters giving him credit for his separation also. The key here will be how much he can generate after the catch. Most are excited to see his yards after catch (YAC).

These are just a few observations that came from the Chicago Bears’ first practice at mandatory minicamp. We will see what else is in store for this team over the next two days.
