10 Stock Up Chicago Bears from mandatory OTAs
8. Sam Mustipher, OL
A lot of fans want to see Sam Mustipher go from a starter last season to a roster cut under the new regime. However, after OTAs, he may end up closer to starting again than he will be to the roster bubble
The huge question with the Chicago Bears at this point is that they really do not have a right guard. Dakota Dozier is not the answer and got carted off at practice. Zach Thomas is just a rookie, and it has left Sam Mustipher with the brunt of the first-team reps at right guard.
Now, things can quickly change in training camp, and Mustipher taking the snaps at right guard has given Doug Kramer more snaps than him at center. At the same time, Mustipher could be a starting right guard and the backup center. Either way, if he is a backup at both, it may make it easier to keep him and stash Doug Kramer onto the practice squad,
Things will change quickly when training camp starts, but things are also trending in the right direction for the Sam Mustipher when they were arguably going the opposite way from the time Ryan Poles got hired through him showing up to OTAs.
