Chicago Bears 2022 roster ranking: No. 84 Nsimba Webster
With the countdown to the start of the 2022 season comes the countdown of the most valuable players on the Chicago Bears roster. The list will focus on which players could have the biggest impact on the 2022 season.
We are onto number 84 on the list.
Chicago Bears 2022 roster ranking: No. 84 Nsimba Webster
Nsimba Webster was on the roster for all of last season but was not on our roster ranking list because he was not signed until the end of training camp when roster cutdowns were made. That is when the team realized that Dazz Newsome was banged up and was not ready to get a roster spot.
Nsimba Webster stepped in as a depth wide receiver, but more than that was the return man. Unfortunately, he was only active for six games as a hamstring injury ailed him.
Webster made the roster last season, but it seems so hard to see him make it this year. The big reason being the change in front offices. Ryan Poles is going to want to bring in his own guys, and Webster did not prove that he should be one of the few holdovers from the last regime.
Webster is obviously going to compete, but he is not going to make any roster as a wide receiver. He could make a roster as the return man, but he seems to be in a long line of players to win that job.
The Bears drafted Trestan Ebner and Velus Jones who both have return capability. They also signed Kevin Shaa as a UDFA who is a return specialist and Darrynton Evans, who excelled there in college.
When you factor in that Khalil Herbert was also a return option last season it is very hard to ser the Bears keeping Webster just because of his return ability. He will need to show much more and just does not have it. This is a Ryan Pace veteran who will be of the roster soon.
