The fourth-best fantasy football player of the Chicago Bears: Allen Robinson, WR

Whether you are upset with him or not, Allen Robinson was one of the best fantasy players to ever play for the Chicago Bears. He was only here for four seasons and last year’s production was nearly enough to keep him off this list. However, I had to overlook the drama that ensued and focused on Robinson’s overall production. Even with the down year, Robinson had one good season and two great seasons while playing with the Bears.

I am on record calling Allen Robinson a volume-type wide receiver and I stand behind that take. That said, it doesn’t matter as long as he was compiling stats and that’s exactly what he did while here in Chicago.

In 2018, Allen Robinson played 13 of 16 games, but only finished as WR40 that year. Not great, but had he played a full 16 games he would have finished with stats somewhere around 68 catches, 928 yards and six touchdowns. That would have at least put him around WR30. His 2019 and 2020 seasons were superb though. In 2019, Robinson finished as the 10th-best wide receiver in fantasy. He finished with an average of 12.9 points per week. In 2020, Allen Robinson as WR11 and averaged 13.2 points per week.

The downfall of Allen Robinson has always been touchdowns for the Bears. He only had seven in 2019 and seven in 2020. It was even worse in 2018 when he only finished with four. If Robinson was a better red zone threat he’d probably still be in a Bears uniform this year and he’d for sure be higher on this list.
