As we slowly get closer to the start of training camp we are counting down the Chicago Bears roster from 90 to 1. We are down to number 61 overall today, with the criteria being which players could impact the roster the most.

Chicago Bears 2022 roster ranking: No. 61 Greg Stroman

Greg Stroman is an interesting name to keep an eye on this summer. Stroman was a seventh-round pick in 2018 coming from Virginia Tech. Stroman ended up getting on the field a bit for Washington as a rookie, and there were signs that he would be a starting cornerback in this league. Teams went from attacking him for being a rookie to attacking Josh Norman because Stroman was better.  Unfrotauntley, injuries derailed his career after his strong rookie season.

He suffered season-ending injuries in 2019 and 2020. He tried to get back on track in 2021 but bounced around from Buffalo to the Rams before signing with the Chicago Bears right before the draft.

There is a chance that Stroman shows up to training camp and he does not look like he has what it takes to stick around. That is why he is so low. At the same time, he is closer to the 53-man roster than most because we have seen it with him, and still is 26 years old.

This is a type of player who is likely to either make the roster or get cut, and not end up on the practice squad. So, someone below number 67 could certainly make the practice squad because of a player like Stroman getting cut.

Still, while there is no long-term upside, there is a chance that he starts to get back to his old ways, and there is a player who can immediately make the roster. His 2018 season was good enough for a seventh-round rookie that you have to at least keep an eye on him this summer.
