2. Did not reach in the draft

Some fans were disappointed when the Chicago Bears left their two top 50 picks with defensive players. However, it should have made it clear that Ryan Poles had no intentions for reaching for a position of need.

He was much more in the business of building the roster with the best players he could possibly find. So, fans wanted offense, but Poles was much more interested in the big picture. It is not like the Bears did not need safety or a cornerback. He was still hitting a need, but doing so with the players that he saw best, even if they were the positions that he did not see best.

As time goes on, and the roster improves they may be interested in pegging down their list of options to more specific positions. Still, at this point, they did not and wound up with Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker as their top picks.

These are the top 50 players on almost everyone’s board and showed that he was able to add two playmakers who could be instant starters and could be on the roster for a long time coming.
