10. David Montgomery Pick 73rd overall

Overall, some may think that David Montgomery should end up being higher on the list. It is fair, and he is only in his fourth NFL season, so unlike most names on the list, he still has time to improve his rating.

One thing that hurts his ranking is the Chicago Bears trading up to make the move happen. The Patriots were able to trade down, select Damien Harris, and move up into the fifth round with another pick. Pace had an issue with trading up that ended up costing him.

Beyond that, Montgomery is entering his fourth season, but he has not signed an extension yet. If the Chicago Bears get the previous three seasons and then another similar year just to walk Montgomery walk, it will be hard to say that he is going to end up much higher.

Now, it is only Ryan Poles to make the Pace pick look better in the long term. Running backs are never going to win the award in value, and that hurts Montgomery as well. He was able to jump over guys like Kwiatkoski and Nichols because they were not on the team beyond year four either, but that is where he sticks for now.
