The countdown until the Chicago Bears report to training camp is on. With that, we also counting down the Chicago Bears roster from the 90th man all the way down to number one. This list is looking at which players are the most impactful when it comes to the 2022 season.

We are now inside the top 50 at number 48.

Chicago Bears 2022 roster ranking: No. 48 Ja’Tyre Carter

Ja’Tyre Carter was a seventh-round pick for the Chicago Bears. He was the ninth player selected in this draft class. Carter came from Southern and may have been the rawest of all the linemen that Chicago drafted.

He played tackle at Southern, but most implications are that he would be best served as a guard for the Chicago Bears and in the NFL. That has been where he has typically lined up when he was at OTAs.

With that in mind, there is a chance that he could be getting into the right guard competition during training camp. That is certainly on the table, but he has taken most of his snaps at left guard.

This has been letting him work with and behind Cody Whitehair. That could be good for now, but it may have him in that role throughout his rookie season. He may end up being better off with this as he is not pressured into playing when he is not ready, and he may be ready to compete next season if Whitehair ends up gone.

Considering how raw he is, this is probably his best path. That is why he is not going to get much higher than where he currently stands. Still, there is the outside chance that he could be better than anticipated in camp or ends up starting at some point. It also appears as though the practice squad is a worst-case scenario.
