Ryan Poles could still have a few moves left in him for the Chicago Bears in 2022

We are still a couple of weeks away from the 2022 training camp for the Chicago Bears. This is supposed to be the “down” time for the team and players, however, we just saw Ryan Poles wheel and deal a trade for a player who has been labeled a bust. That said, the risk involved is so low, that the move is a clear win. Sending a 2024 (not even a 2023) seventh-round draft pick for a player is like getting the player for free. It will be interesting to see how the trade for N’Keal Harry truly plays out. Will he even make the final roster?

What we should take from this trade though is that Ryan Poles is still working to revamp this roster. It should not surprise anyone if we hear about more moves prior to the start of the regular season. Robert Quinn is a name sitting out there who is still a likely trade candidate. Is Poles working the phones trying to make a deal happen? I’m fine with Quinn staying or going depending on the return.

I also would not be surprised if Poles makes a few changes to the roster via free agency prior to the start of the draft. This might not happen until we see the team put pads on at training camp and determine where the lingering holes are, but it is still in the realm of possibilities. I wouldn’t hold my breath for many older vets though. If you were like me and pounding the table for Will Fuller, keep dreaming. It does not seem like that is going to be an option in Poles’ mind.
