Chicago Bears who need a dominant training camp: Dazz Newsome, WR

There are going to be plenty of names not on this list who are obvious. Players who are a long-shot to make the final roster anyway. Instead, I am only looking at names of players who have a legit shot of sticking around or might be fighting for a starting position rather than falling into the backup role.

Dazz Newsome is a fairly obvious name. Newsome will need to have a dominant training camp just to make the practice squad. He is not a draft pick of the new regime and they have no ties to him directly. Newsome barely saw the field last year despite a wide receiver group that only looked better on paper because of the name Allen Robinson.

Newsome played in only three games last year and was listed as a starter for one of them. He caught two of five targets for 23 yards. Where Newsome had value for the Chicago Bears last year was in the return game. He returned six punts for 75 yards (12.5 per punt return). Although a small sample size, that average of 12.5 yards per return was good enough for the eighth-best in the league.
