1. Will Darnell Mooney catch 4 touchdowns for Chicago Bears

This was probably an easy projection for ESPN. During his rookie season, Mooney caught four touchdowns, and in his second year, he caught four touchdowns. So, yes, he averages four touchdowns per year.

Still, so far we have been projecting him to see better production and even the possibility of better efficiency. With that in mind, he should be able to go over four touchdowns.

During his rookie season, he did it in just 98 targets. If he is getting close to 50 more targets, he should get into the end zone more. Of course, that did not happen last season. Still, as noted, the offense was a mess with rotating quarterbacks, so that may be the rare exception.

With this in mind, Mooney is likely due to catch more touchdowns. Considering how often he was targeted and how deep down the field he is targeted it is just bound to happen more, and it was almost hard to accomplish just four touchdowns with how often he was getting looks last season.

This may be overly optimistic, but if you read some of our past posts looking into 2022 projections, it is not this optimistic for every player. Still, Mooney should hit over his targets, catches, yards, and touchdowns projection this season.
