2022 NFC Predictions and where the Chicago Bears finish: NFC North

Now it is time to look at our beloved Chicago Bears. I am on record stating that I have the Chicago Bears finishing 8-9 on the season. I also am on record stating that the team will struggle mightily to make the playoffs. In fact, I have flat out said it isn’t going to happen. That said, I am not Nostradamus and I am always going to hope for the best.

Chicago Bears

This team has plenty of question marks. A new general manager and new head coach make everything more exciting and interesting. No one knows for sure how this group will do, but based on their spending and the names on the back of the uniforms, the Bears will likely struggle in 2022. Justin Fields must prove himself as a dominant, franchise quarterback for years to come. The defense should be even better than it was in 2021 and there are enough solid new faces in very key roles. This Chicago Bears team will surprise many this year.

Detroit Lions

The Lions have made some moves that I absolutely love. The drafting of Jameson Williams was a phenomenal pick, but not nearly as good as drafting my top prospect in the draft, Aidan Hutchinson. These two picks cannot save them though in 2022 and this team will be fighting to stay out of the basement of the NFC North once again.

Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers joked about owning the Chicago Bears. Well, this team also owns the entire NFC North. As long as Rodgers stays healthy, there is not a team in this division that will overtake them this year — even with a lack of receiving weapons.

Minnesota Vikings

This is tough because I despise the Vikings. I think I don’t like them even more than the Green Bay Packers. Kirk Cousins cannot win in big moments, but he is still a very good quarterback — better than most want to give him credit anyway. The defense will need to show up this season or it will be a long, bumpy ride for the purple and gold.

NFC Predictions: NFC North

  1. Green Bay Packers*
  2. Minnesota Vikings*
  3. Chicago Bears
  4. Detroit Lions

I believe the NFC North will finish in a similar way as 2021, but this year I have the Vikings making the playoffs instead of the 49ers. The Chicago Bears will finish with a slightly better record than they did in 2021, but it won’t be enough to make the playoffs.
