The countdown to the start of training camp is getting closer as we are also getting closer to the top 30 players on our ranking of the most valuable Chicago Bears. This list is looking at which players will impact wins and losses most next season.

We are down to number 33 overall on our list.

Chicago Bears 2022 roster ranking: No. 33 Dominique Robinson

Dominique Robinson is a rookie fifth-round pick from Miami (OH). He is an interesting pick because he was drafted mainly for his long-term upside and less about what he could bring next season.

Robinson played wide receiver at Miami as recently as 2019. He has the traits such as length, burst, and bend, but has not put them together yet. So, this year will be about adjusting, although the hope is that he is able to learn on the field at some point.

Still, as the depth chart stands right now Robinson is behind Robert Quinn, Trevis Gipson, and Al-Quadin Muhammad.

Carson Taylor is a rookie UDFA, but Robinson will have to prove on the field that he belongs more than Taylor as well. Considering Robinson will only be the fourth rusher, it is hard to put the rookie much higher.

Still, at the same time, he is obviously one of the bigger investments from the front office so far, and they may want to see the young upside of a player like Robinson as the season goes. They also may be looking to trade Robert Quinn.

Al-Quadin Muhammad is already banged up, and is not a force that is holding down a spot, and Trevis Gipson has never taken a full plate of starting snaps before. This means that Robinson could very easily get on the field, one in a rotation role, but perhaps more than that in a role where he is becoming one of their trusted rushers as a rookie. It is closer to happening than some realize.
