The countdown is on. We are counting down the days until the Chicago Bears report to training camp. With that is our countdown of the Chicago Bears roster from 90 all the way to number one. We are looking at which players will have the biggest impact on the 2022 season.

This will be our first player in the top 30.

Chicago Bears 2022 roster ranking: No. 30 Khari Blasingame

Khari Blasingame was a free agent signing by the Chicago Bears at fullback. He spent his first three seasons with the Tennessee Titans and is now onto his second NFL team. Blasingame will be the starting fullback and has no competition otherwise.

The question with him comes down to what his role will be and how he will be used on offense. Last season, the Bears technically did not have a fullback, using JP Holtz, who was a tight end/fullback.

However, with the new offense, there is a chance that they will be incorporating a fullback into the mix more. The Packers did it, and while Luke Getsy is not exactly a Shanahan-tree coach, he did learn a thing or two from Matt LeFleur, who worked with Kyle Shanahan.

Of course, the 49ers are known for their abnormally high fullback usage. While we will not say that Blasingame will have the type of impact that Kyle Juscyk has, you can see a team looking to use Blasingame in a similar manner.

In most cases, the Bears will use three-wide sets, or two tight ends, so depth at both spots may end up being more vital.

Still, the ability to add in a fullback gives than an entire set of new plays that they didn’t run last season, and the Bears going out and signing him specifically to fill the role shows that they trust in him.

That gets him to number 30 overall on our list.
