2. Over or Under 599 yards?

Cole Kmet hit 612 yards last year, and ESPN has a similar projection. Will he top 600 for the second straight year is all that they are asking.

If the games that Kmet played with Justin Fields were a 17-game sample, he would have hit 581 yards last season. That would have been a drop, and we already noted that Kmet was better with Dalton last season, but it only requires a bit more efficiency to go over.

Still, as we noted in the past slide, if you take out the first two games of Fields’ career, Kmet would actually be on pace for 690 yards. He only had 18 yards in the first two games that Fields played.

If you look at the last two games that Fields played, and project it out to 17 games, Kmet would soar over 700 yards. So, Fields was not used to Kmet early in the season, and it affected his stats.

Then, to close the season, Kmet was trending better than ever. This one seems easy. As long as Fields can continue to get better, and Kmet does not hit a wall, he should hit 600 yards, and possibly be closer to 700.

It is worth reminding fans that Kmet is still just 23 years old, which means he is two years away from even hitting a prime age. There is plenty of room for growth, and the projections are calling for similar outputs from Fields to Kmet.
