If the Raiders know anything it is missing on high picks and new front offices preferring to bring in their own guys.

The Raiders reached for Alex Leatherwood, and he had a poor rookie season. Now, he is running with the backups because there is a new coaching staff in place, and the people who drafted him are gone. Still, with Leatherwood out of the lineup, the Raiders have Brandon Parker at right tackle, and that is a position that could be upgraded. It is also an old Mike Mayokck pick.

Champ Kelly is not the GM of the Raiders, but he has had some sway in the new front office since being hired over there. Bilal Nichols and Jesper Horsted are on the roster, and you have to assume that Kelley was a person championing both.

If Kelly was a person interested in Jenkins before the draft he could be selling the Raiders brass on fixing their right tackle situation with Jenkins. If the people in that building preferred Jenkins to Leatherwood they could easily take a shot on Jenkins and let him compete.
