Dante Pettis showed enough to make the final Chicago Bears roster

Two receivers on this list today? Yes, and both of these guys were probably on the bubble. I had Pettis over Sharpe all offseason. However, if between the two, Sharpe might have the edge now. The one thing that I love about Pettis over Sharpe though is his ability to block. Check out his blocking on this Trestan Ebner run.

These little details are what I love about the new coaching staff. We would not have seen anything like this from a wide receiver under Matt Nagy. It’s the same as when we heard about how the team didn’t really practice scramble drills under Nagy, but they have already been doing those drills under Matt Eberflus’ leadership.

The talk is about getting 1% better each day and focusing on those little details is how that happens. Dante Pettis is a former second-round pick of the 49ers. He hasn’t lived up to expectations due to injuries. The question with him is always, can he stay healthy?

We saw Dazz Newsome score a touchdown, but his play was very inconsistent. He is listed as the starting punt returner, however, after a muffed punt, Dante Pettis was put back there instead. Couple that with the injuries to N’Keal Harry and Byron Pringle, both Tajae Sharpe and Dante Pettis are likely to round out the back end of the wide receiver group.
