The Chicago Bears second preseason game will be important for a lot of players. The third game has now become the fourth game, which means that most starters are unlikely to play much. This means that tonight’s game against Seattle will be the most notable chance that players will have to move up the roster.

Who are five players that could see their status on the team shift in a big way with a strong performance?

5. Micah Dew-Treadway

Micah Dew-Treadway is flying under the radar as a UDFA from Minnesota. Still, with the Bears roster in such a turnover phase, it makes sense that UDFAs are getting real chances to make the roster. Dew-Treadway has been one of those players.

During the initial depth chart release, it was impressive to see that he was placed ahead of Mike Pennel. Pennel is a long-standing veteran, so this is significant, but could be explained by Pennel being just a nose tackle, while Dew-Treadway is more of a 3-5 technique, who can move around a bit.

Micah Dew-Treadway continued his ascent with a sack in the first preseason game. Some names such as Mario Edwards and Angelo Blackson have been banged up, and it should mean that Micah Dew-Treadway is going to get a decent-sized role against the Seahawks.

If he can make another splash play or two, or even if you end up seeing him in a special teams role, that could be what it takes to put him firmly on the roster with about a week to go until cut downs.
